However, as part of our accountability to readers, we recognize that errors may occasionally occur. This Fact-Check & Correction Policy outlines how we verify information, respond to factual disputes, and correct inaccuracies when they arise.

We believe that credibility begins with accuracy. All reports, articles, or digital publications on Jan Himachal are verified through reliable primary or secondary sources before publication. Our editorial team follows these principles:

Before publication, our editorial team ensures that:

  1. Each factual claim is reviewed by at least one editorial member.
  2. Sensitive information (legal, political, or public-interest) is supported by official or credible evidence.
  3. Data and statistics are cited with clear references to their original sources.
  4. Content that involves allegations or disputes is balanced with responses from all relevant parties whenever reasonably possible.

3. Requesting a Correction

Readers, organizations, or individuals who believe an article contains incorrect or misleading information may submit a correction request by emailing our editorial desk.

All requests are acknowledged within 48 hours of receipt.


4. Correction Procedure

Upon receiving a valid correction request, our internal review process involves:

  1. Verification of the claim by the editorial team.
  2. Consultation with the concerned reporter or source (if applicable).
  3. Decision on whether a correction, clarification, or retraction is warranted.
  4. Update of the article with an editor’s note specifying the nature and date of the correction.

Corrections and clarifications are normally addressed within 10 to 15 working days, depending on the complexity of verification required.

6. Responsibility & Oversight

The Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Aaryan Singh, holds overall editorial responsibility for fact verification and content accuracy.
All correction requests and their resolutions are monitored by the Grievance Officer, Mr. Sameer Saifi, in accordance with Rule 11 of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.


7. Review & Record Keeping

All correction requests and editorial responses are recorded and retained for a minimum of 60 days for internal review and compliance reporting to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, if required.
